They want to dine in a relaxed and comfortable place. They expect warm and friendly service from the staff. They also seek affordable and reasonable prices. With all that criteria in mind, let us look at why the following places are considered New York’s best seafood spots.

1.	Le Bernardin led by Chef Eric Ripert is located at 155 W. 51st St. With three Michelin stars and four stars given by New York Times, Le Bernardin is one of the most popular seafood spots in New York. They serve hamachi tartare, sautéed cod, and a wide variety of oysters. Also on the menu, they have caviar, scallops, and octopus. The list goes on and on. Le Bernardin also offers a Chef’s Tasting Menu done per table, something worth saving up for. It includes caviar, butter poached lobster, baked codfish and crispy black bass to name a few.

2.	Marea which means ‘tide’ in Italian is also a favorite place to go for seafood. It can be found at 240 Central Park South. Marea is known for its fresh seafood and authentic Italian cuisine. They offer crab spaghetti, octopus bone marrow pasta, cuttlefish and rigatoni with squid ink. It’s a great place to celebrate special occasions and the wait staff is very attentive and polite.

3.	Pearl Oyster Bar in 18 Cornelia Street (between 4th Street and Bleecker Street) serves the most mouth-watering lobster rolls in New York. They also serve an assortment of chilled seafood which includes oysters, shrimp cocktails and clams. They also have small and large plates of seafood on their menu to give you more choices. They have very knowledgeable waiters and the service is warm and friendly.

There is never a shortage of seafood restaurants in New York. Whether you crave for lobster rolls or Italian seafood dish, New York City has a lot to offer. Just remember, when eating seafood, it is more fun when you use your hands!

Having said that, a bad menu can ruin an otherwise enjoyable evening, so it’s a good idea to do some groundwork and take a look around for opinions when making a decision about where to eat.

Just as if that doesn’t make things tricky enough, there’s much more to consider about a restaurant than only the food! The character of a place can really make a difference in your overall experience, whether it be snobby and rude personnel or a badly behaved toddler the second table over. But it’s not all unpleasant, of course – an amazing mood can make a pretty good dinner into a brilliant meal!

We have lived in New York for many years now, and we’ve built up a reasonably respectable repertoire of eateries that we enjoy, from small mom-and-pop places to impressive fine dining, and here are a few of our all-time favorites (although it was so difficult to pick!). This is what those on Yelp.com say when it comes to our faves:

1. Aquagrill

210 Spring St
(between Sullivan St & Avenue Of The Americas)
New York, NY 10012
Neighborhood: South Village

(212) 274-0505

www.aquagrill.com

I have been coming to Aquagrill (mostly for leisurely afternoon lunches) for over 15 years and for many a happy occasion – but today they outdid themselves – not only did they do the standard bday dessert candles they actually had an item on the menu named after the bday boy! bravo- these are the traits for another 15 yrs to come.
As usual my oysters and crab claws were amazing and I tried the softshell crab sandwich which was outstanding.
Aquagrill you are a New York institution and will remain one!

- T B.

New York, NY

2. Taverna Kyclades

3307 Ditmars Blvd
Astoria, NY 11105
Neighborhood: Astoria

(718) 545-8666

www.tavernakyclades.com

If you love fish, there is nothing as good as Kyclades in NY. Everything is fresh and delicious. It’s extremely crowdy most of the time but totally worth the wait.
I absolutely love and recommend the tzatziki dip, the lemon potatoes, the grilled calamari, the octopus and the grilled swordfish.

- Alexandra D.

Ridgewood, NY

3. Sik Gaek

49-11 Roosevelt Ave
Woodside, NY 11377
Neighborhood: Woodside

(718) 205-4555

www.sikgaekusa.com

Very good Korean restaurant , nice decoration ! When I first walked in , I felt like I was in Korea. Food is tasty’ I love it.

- Thavinee W.

Woodside, NY

If you’re looking for other stuff to do in New York, head over and read our other blog posts about our beautiful city, and prepare a day of it! We are sure you can find something which might help round out your fine dining experience into part of an unforgettable day!
